Express Entry Draw #219– April 13, 2022

Canada invited 787 Express Entry candidates with CRS score of at least 782 to apply for permanent residency (PR)

Canada invited another 787 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency (PR) in new immigration draw held on April 13, 2022.

Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for PR were issued to candidates, who had previously received a nomination from an Express-Entry aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and had a  Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 782.

Express-Entry with a provincial nomination, get automatic 600 points added to their CRS score.  Therefore, the CRS score cut-off for PNP-specific Express Entry draws is usually quite high.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was April 07, 2022 at 16:31:21 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 782 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation in this draw.

Express Entry System

Express Entry is a system adopted by Canadian Government to manage applications for Canadian permanent residence through three economic immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades.

The system boasts efficient processing time, with majority of applications being processed between six to eight months.

How does it work?

  • In brief, candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by creating a profile in Express Entry portal summarizing their skills and credentials including age, education, language, work experience, and others.
  • Following submission, eligible candidates are entered into a pool of applicants, where Comprehensive Ranking System will be automatically applicable and applicants will be ranked on a scale of 1200 points.
  • The highly ranked candidates will then be invited to apply for permanent residency as a skilled immigrant through regular draws from the pool by IRCC.

Since September 2021, IRCC has only been inviting PNP candidates in Express Entry draws. A total of 7,257 PNP candidates have received invitations to apply so far in 2022.

Canada invited another 919 PNP candidates to apply for PR in new Express Entry Draw

Express Entry Draw #219– March 30, 2022

Canada invited another 919 PNP candidates to apply for PR in new Express Entry Draw

Another 919 Express Entry candidates are now just a step away of achieving their Canadian immigration dreams.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 919 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency in new Express Entry draw held on March 30, 2022.

The draw was restricted for only Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. Therefore, only those Express Entry candidates, who had previously obtained a provincial nomination from one of the Express-Entry aligned PNPs, received ITAs in this round of invitations.

In order to be invited, Express Entry candidates needed to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 785.

Express Entry candidates, who received a provincial nomination through an Express-Entry aligned PNP, automatically get 600 additional CRS points. This is the major reason that CRS score cut-off for PNP-specific Express Entry draws is usually quite high.

Canada Immigration applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was November 15, 2021 at 20:23:16 UTC. This means the PNP candidates, who had a CRS score of 785 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received invites in this draw.

Express Entry system

Express Entry is an online system used by IRCC to manage and process applications for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents of Canada through three of Canada’s federal economic immigration programs for skilled workers:

  • The Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)
  • The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • The Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)

Eligible candidates are required to create a profile in Express Entry portal summarizing their skills and credentials including Age, Education, Language, Work Experience, and others.

Following submission, eligible candidates are entered into a pool of applicants, where Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) will be automatically applicable and applicants will be ranked on a scale of 1200 points.

The high-ranking candidates then received invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws.

While a nomination from one of Canada’s Provinces is not necessary to enter the Express Entry pool or receive an ITA in all-program Express Entry draw, it can increase an applicant’s CRS score by 600 points, eventually enabling him/her receive an ITA quickly.

Candidates, who received invitations in this draw, now have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application to IRCC.
