Canada invited 1047 PNP candidates to apply for Permanent Residency in new Express Entry Draw

Express Entry Draw #217– March 2, 2022

Canada invited 1047 PNP candidates to apply for Permanent Residency in new Express Entry Draw

Canada conducted its fifth Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) -only Express Entry draw of the year on March 2, 2022.

A total of 1047 immigration candidates, who previously obtained a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned PNP, received invitations to apply for Canadian immigration in this draw.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut off was 761. Express Entry candidates, who successfully receive a provincial nomination, automatically get 600 additional points toward their overall CRS score.  This is the reason that CRS cut-off score for PNP-specific draws is usually high.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was January 05, 2022 at 14:22:03 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 761 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation to apply (ITA)  in this round of invitations.

Canada Express Entry system

The Express Entry system is the fastest and most efficient path for skilled workers to get Canadian permanent residency.

It is a completely electronic process and manages applications for permanent residence under these three federal economic immigration programs:

·         The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
·         The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
·         The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Eligible candidates can submit a profile into the Express Entry pool, where they are ranked against the other candidates according to CRS, where they are ranked based on their human capital factors, skills, experience, and other factors.

Highly ranked candidates will then be invited to apply for permanent residency as a skilled immigrant through draws from the pool by IRCC.

Those who received invitation need to submit a complete permanent residence application to IRCC within 60 days from the date of receiving an invitation.
