The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 602 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in new immigration draw held on September 2, 2021.
The invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to candidates through Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Stream of the MPNP.
Distribution of Invitations
|Stream||Total Invitations issued||Minimum EOI Score|
|Skilled Workers in Manitoba||463||445|
|Skilled Workers Overseas||84||698|
|International Education Stream||55||No EOI score requirement|
Out of total LAAs issued, 101 went to candidates with valid profiles in federal Express Entry system.
The MPNP is one of the most popular of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). There are three major streams under the MPNP that offer foreign skilled workers a pathway to settle in Canada permanently – Skilled Workers Overseas Stream, Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream, and International Education Stream.
In order to apply under both the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories, applicants need to first register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.
These EOI profiles are scored on the Manitoba points’ grid out of a total score of 1,000 based on their human capital characteristics including their English or French language skills, work experience, education, Manitoba connections, and other factors.
Candidates with the highest scores are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the MPNP.
Express Entry Candidates, who successfully receive a provincial nomination, are awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in subsequent PNP-specific Express Entry Draws.
The MPNP has now issued a total of 7,391 LAAs for provincial nomination to immigration candidates so far in 2021.
