British Columbia invited 168 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in its first immigration draw of 2021

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) conducted its first immigration draw of 2021 on January 5.

Total 168 immigration candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in this invitation round.

The invitations were issued through the five sub-categories of the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams.

Breakdown of the sub-categories and the minimum scores required in order to receive an invitation in this draw

Stream Minimum Score Requirement
Skills Immigration: Skilled Worker 95
Skills Immigration: International Graduate 95
Skills Immigration Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled 77
Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker 99
Express Entry BC: International Graduate 99

The Express Entry BC (EEBC) stream of BCPNP allows the province to search & invite qualified candidates who have the qualifications, education and work experience with a valid profile in the Federal Express Entry system whereas the Skills Immigration Category of BCPNP is designed for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in British Columbia.

In order to receive an invitation for provincial nomination under one of those two streams, candidates need to first create a profile through the BC PNP’s online portal and register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Invited Express Entry BC candidates, whose applications get approved by BCPNP will automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points toward their comprehensive ranking system (CRS) scores. This effectively guaranties them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Federal Express Entry Draw.

British Columbia holds regular immigration draws through its various BC PNP categories and streams.
