The Express Entry BC (EEBC) Category allows BCPNP to search Federal Express Entry pool to find qualified international workers or graduates who have the qualifications, education and work experience to fill positions that are in high-demand in the province and invite them to apply for provincial nomination.

The Skills Immigration Category of BCPNP is designed for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in British Columbia

In order to receive an invitation for provincial nomination through the EEBC, candidates need to be registered under both the federal Express Entry system and B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) whereas Skills Immigration candidates only have to be registered with the SIRS.

All invited candidates under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories had an indeterminate, full-time job offer with an employer in B.C.

Candidates invited under the EEBC: Skilled Worker and EEBC: International Graduate categories will automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points toward their comprehensive ranking system (CRS) scores, if their applications get approved by BCPNP.

This effectively guaranties them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Federal Express Entry Draw.

British Columbia invited 182 candidates to apply for PR in a new PNP draw on June 28, 2022

The Canadian province of British Columbia conducted new rounds of invitations under British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on June 28, 2022.

A total of 182 immigration applicants received invitations to apply (ITAs) for a provincial nomination for the Canadian permanent residency (PR) under three different streams.

Distribution of invitations

Draw/Occupations

Total ITAs issued Minimum Provincial Score
General draw (including Tech occupations) 159 Between 75 to 124
Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214) 17 60
Healthcare 6 60

The highest – 159 invitations were sent under general draw (including Tech occupations) to immigration candidates through the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories of BC PNP.

BC PNP also conducted two separate targeted draws for professionals working in Childcare and Healthcare sectors. A total of 17 invitations were issued to Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214) and 6 to Healthcare workers. The minimum provincial score requirement in both of these draws was 60 points.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) allows the province of B.C. to select and nominate qualified prospective economic immigrants for permanent residence status in Canada.

BC PNP uses an online, points-based expression of interest (EOI) system to manage application intake. Applicants need to first register an EOI profile that establishes a point score based on various factors – level of education, work experience, language skills, occupation, and job offer, among others.

The BC PNP then issues invitations to apply for provincial nomination to the highest-scoring candidates through weekly draws.

Upon receiving a nomination from the BC PNP, Express Entry candidates can get an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, which directly increases their chances to receive an ITA for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
