4,750 Express Entry candidates received invites to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR)

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted another big round of invitations on November 9, 2022.

A total of 4,750 Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 494 received invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR).

This is the tenth all-program Express Entry draw since IRCC resumed all-program draws on July 6. Therefore, eligible candidates from all Express Entry programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST) were considered in this draw.

Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025

The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, released Canada’s 2023–2025 Immigration Levels Plan on November 1, 2022.

Canada is aiming to welcome the highest-ever 1.45 million new permanent residents over the next 3 years across all immigration categories.

In 2021, a total of 127, 933 Indian nationals became permanent residents (PRs) of Canada as the country admitted a record 405,000 new immigrants in its history.

The Canadian Government is continuing that ambition by setting record targets in the new levels plan of 465,000 PRs in 2023, 485,000 in 2024, and 500,000 in 2025.

 Express Entry Targets (principal applicants, spouses, and dependents):

  • 2023: 82,880
  • 2024: 109,020
  • 2025: 114,000

A total of 82,880 new immigrants in 2023 will be admitted Express Entry System. The target will rise to 109,020 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025.

IRCC will also use new features in the Express Entry system to welcome new immigrants with the required skills and qualifications in sectors such as health care, manufacturing, building trades, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

CRS score dropped below 500; 4,750 Express Entry candidates received ITAs to apply for permanent residency (PR)

A total of 4,750 Express Entry candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496 received invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canada permanent residency (PR) in a new draw held on October 26, 2022.

The CRS score cut-off threshold dropped below 500 for the first time since IRCC resumed all-program Express Entry draws in July.

The draw considered candidates in all Express Entry programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST).

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp was set for May 09, 2022 09:04:20 UTC. If more than one candidate has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool.

Upcoming changes in the Express Entry System

IRCC has confirmed that Express Entry reforms named in Bill C-19 will come into force in early 2023. The measure would radically overhaul the Canadian Express Entry system that allows foreign skilled workers and temporary residents to seek permanent status in Canada. It will give IRCC the authority to invite Express Entry candidates from the pool based on an economic goal.

Currently, Canada invites the highest-ranked Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency based on their CRS score. However, the new changes will allow IRCC to conduct targeted Express Entry draws and invite candidates based on factors like their occupation, language abilities, education credential, or other factors that correspond to Canada’s labour market needs.

Canada invited 3750 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residency (PR) in a new Express Entry Draw on September 28, 2022.

Applicants having a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 504 or above received invitations to Apply (ITAs) in this draw. The CRS score cut-off threshold continues to drop whereas the number of invitations has increased to pre-pandemic levels.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also applied the tie-breaking rule in this draw and the time-stamp was set for May 02, 2022 at 17:17:32 UTC. If more than one candidate has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool.

Eligible candidates can submit a profile into the Express Entry pool, where they are ranked against the other candidates according to CRS, where they are ranked based on their human capital factors, skills, experience, and other factors.

Highly ranked candidates will then be invited to apply for permanent residency as skilled immigrants through draws from the pool by IRCC.

Those who received invitations need to submit a complete permanent residence application to IRCC within 60 days from the date of receiving an ITA.

IRCC invited 3,250 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residency  

In a new Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada held on September 14, a total of 3,250 candidates were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 510 points – a reduction of six points from the previous draw held on August 31. The CRS score cut-off threshold continues to drop as the number of ITAs increases.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) also applied the tie-breaking rule in this draw and the time-stamp was set for January 08, 2022 at 10:24:52 UTC. If more than one candidate has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool.

IRCC is on track to welcome a record 432,000 new permanent residents in 2022

With exceptional interest in Canada from immigration applicants all over the world, Canada is ready to welcome nearly 432,000 immigrants this year. The honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has also indicated that by the end of 2022 Canada will break its current record of 405,330 new immigrant landings in a year.

As of the end of June 2022, Canada has already welcomed more than 300,000 new immigrants. As per the data shared by IRCC, India remains the top source country of new immigrants with 68,280 Indians having received their Canadian permanent residence followed by countries like China, Philippines, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Iran, France, USA, Pakistan, and Brazil.

2750 immigration applicants received ITAs for Canada PR in a new Express Entry Draw; CRS score continues to drop

Canada issued 2,750 invitations to apply (ITA) for Permanent Residency (PR) in a new Express Entry draw held on August 31, 2022.

This was the fifth all-program Express Entry draw since Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) resumed all-program Express Entry draws on July 6, 2022 after a gap of more than 18 months.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 516 points.  CRS cut off score has been reduced by 9 points as compared to the previous Express Entry draw held two weeks ago, whereas the number of ITAs has increased by 500.

IRCC also applied the tie-breaking rule in this draw and the time-stamp was set for April 16, 2022 at 18:24:41 UTC. If more than one candidate has the lowest CRS score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool.
