Manitoba invited 375 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on July 29

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) released details of its new PNP draw held on July 29.

Another 375 candidates Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Streams of MPNP received invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency in this draw.

Stream Total Invitations issued Minimum EOI Score
Skilled Workers in Manitoba 285 400
Skilled Workers Overseas 47 708
International Education Stream 43 No EOI score requirement

Out of total invitations issued, 42 went to Express Entry candidates.

The MPNP is one of the most popular of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). There are three major streams under the MPNP that offer foreign skilled workers a pathway to settle in Canada permanently – Skilled Workers Overseas Stream, Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream, and International Education Stream.

In order to apply under both the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories, applicants need to first register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.

These EOI profiles are scored on the Manitoba points’ grid out of a total score of 1,000 based on their human capital characteristics including their English or French language skills, work experience, education, Manitoba connections, and other factors.

Candidates with the highest scores are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the MPNP.

Express Entry Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in subsequent Express Entry Draw.
