Nova Scotia invited French-speaking Express Entry candidates in new immigration draw on March 29

Nova Scotia conducted its second immigration draw of this year through the Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream on March 29.

The invitations, also known as Letters of Interest (LOIs) were issued to Express Entry candidates who had selected French as their first official language and had a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 9 or higher in French in all language abilities.

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), however, did not disclose the information on how many invitations were sent in this invitation round.

Apart from French language proficiency, invited candidates also needed to demonstrate that they have:

  • English as a second official language with a CLB score of 7 or higher all language abilities –Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking
  • Either a bachelor’s degree OR completed a three or more years of study program at a university, college, trade or technical school.
  • Applied before 11:59 p.m., April 28, 2021

The Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream of NSNP targets immigration candidates based on the province’s labour market needs.

In order to qualify for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia through this Stream, candidates first need to have a valid profile in the Federal Express Entry system.

The NSNP has held total 16 Labour Market Priorities Stream draws since its launch in the year 2018 and have invited Financial Auditors, Accountants, Programmers, Early Childhood Education Workers, Social Workers, Nurses, and Carpenters to apply for provincial nomination.

Invited candidates now have 30 Calendar days to send in their application for the provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence to NSNP.
