Canada is in search of entrepreneurs, investors and business managers who wish to immigrate to this beautiful country in search of new opportunities. The Canadian government offers different forms of fast-tracked Business Immigrations options for interested immigrants.

A majority of the Canadian provinces & territories like Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Manitoba and New Brunswick have their own Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that allow them to nominate businesspersons & investors who want to immigrate to Canada and settle in a particular province.

These programs vary in terms of minimum investment & other eligibility criteria and allow the applicants to settle in that particular province with their families and offer them the fast track option to get Canadian Permanent Residence.

Programs

  1.  Ontario

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP): Entrepreneur Stream

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s (OINP) Entrepreneur Stream is designed to support individuals from outside of Canada who are looking to implement a new business idea or buy an existing business in Ontario.

It offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to be nominated for permanent residence once their business has been successfully established in Ontario.

Minimum requirements to apply under the Ontario PNP Program

  1. If the proposed business is located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA):
  • Minimum investment: $600,000
  • Minimum Net worth: $800,000
  1. If the proposed business is located outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA):
  • Minimum investment: $200,000
  • Minimum Net worth: $ 400,000
  • Experience: 24 months of business experience as an owner or senior manager within the past 60 months
  • Language proficiency: IELTS with CLB Level 5
  • Age: below 55
  • Qualification: Minimum 10+2 or above
  1. British Columbia

 The BC PNP: Entrepreneur Immigration stream

The BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration stream is for experienced entrepreneurs who intend to invest and actively manage a business in British Columbia.

There are two program categories

1. EI- Base Category:   Intended for experienced entrepreneurs who intend to establish new businesses or take over and grow existing businesses in British Columbia.

2. EI- Regional Pilot: Intended to attract entrepreneurs to participating regional communities to establish new businesses that align with the communities’ economic development priorities.

Minimum requirements to apply under the BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration stream

  • Minimum investment: CAD$ 400,000 (After getting the visa)
  • Minimum Net worth: CAD$ 600,000
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience in the last 5 years as an Entrepreneur
  • Language proficiency: IELTS with CLB Level 4
  • Age: Below 60
  • Qualification: Minimum 10+2 or above
  1. Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia Nominee Program: Entrepreneur Stream

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program’s (NSNP) Entrepreneur Stream is one of the most successful provincial nominee programs in Canada. It is designed to attract experienced business owners and senior business managers who wish to establish or acquire a business and settle permanently in Nova Scotia.

Features of the program

  • It is a temporary to permanent residence program, which means that approved applicants must operate a business in Nova Scotia on a Work Permit (WP) for at least one continuous year before being nominated for permanent resident status in Canada.
  • Applicant must intend to provide active and ongoing participation in the day-to-day management and direction of a business
  • Application to the stream is by invitation only.

Minimum requirements to apply under the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) Entrepreneur Stream

  • Minimum investment: CAD$ 150000 (After getting the visa)
  • Investment type: Private Enterprise Sole ownership or 33% ownership
  • Minimum Net worth: CAD$ 600,000
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years Business ownership (min 33% shares) or 5 years and above in Senior manager role
  • Job Creation: Minimum 2 jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Language proficiency: IELTS with CLB Level 5
  • Age: Below 55
  • Qualification: Minimum 10+2 or above
  1. Manitoba

 Manitoba PNP- The Business Investor Stream (BIS)

The Manitoba PNP’s Business Investor Stream (BIS) allows qualified business investors and entrepreneurs from around the world to start or purchase businesses in Manitoba.

Minimum requirements to apply under the Manitoba PNP’s Business Investor Stream (BIS)

  • Minimum investment: CAD$ 150000 (outside capital city) & CAD$250000 within the capital city
  • Minimum Net worth: CAD$ $500,000
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience in the last 5 years as an Entrepreneur
  • Language proficiency: IELTS with CLB Level 5
  • Age: Below 50
  • Qualification: Minimum 10+2 or above
  1. New Brunswick

 New Brunswick PNP – Entrepreneurial Stream

The NBPNP’s Entrepreneurial Stream allows experienced business owners and senior managers to become permanent residents by owning & managing a business in New Brunswick (NB).

Minimum requirements to apply under the NBPNP – Entrepreneurial Stream

  • Minimum investment: CAD$ 250,000
  • Minimum Net worth: CAD$ 600,000
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience in the last 5 years as an Entrepreneur
  • Language proficiency: IELTS with CLB Level 5
  • Age: Below 55
  • Qualification: Graduation/2-3 year diploma  after 10+2
  • Have intention to live in New Brunswick, invest C$250,000 (of eligible expenses) in a business, and actively manage it.
  1. Saskatchewan

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) – Entrepreneur stream

 The Entrepreneur Stream of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) allows experienced business owners and senior business managers to start, obtain or partner in a business in Saskatchewan and participate in the day-to-day management duties, while residing in Saskatchewan.

After operating a Saskatchewan business for at least 6 months, applicant can be nominated for Canadian permanent resident status.

Minimum requirements to apply under the SINP– Entrepreneurial Stream

 Minimum investment: A minimum of $300,000 (CAD) in Regina and Saskatoon or a minimum of $200,000 (CAD) in all other Saskatchewan communities

  • Minimum Net worth: $500,000 (CAD)
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant business management or entrepreneurial experience gained in the past ten years
  • Language proficiency: IELTS with CLB Level 5
  • Age: Below 55
  • Qualification: Minimum 10+2
  • Must provide active and on-going participation in the day-to-day management and direction of the business
  • If you intend to establish a new business in Regina or Saskatoon, your business plan must include the creation of at least 2 jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents in Saskatchewan.
