Manitoba invited 399 Skilled Workers Overseas and Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on April 19

The Canadian province of Manitoba held new immigration draw on April 19.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 399 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination under its Skilled Workers Overseas stream.

Out of total Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued, 30 went to candidates under a strategic recruitment initiative with an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 703.

Another 369 candidates with an EOI score of at least 708 received invitations under a strategic recruitment initiative.

This draw did not issue invitations to immigration candidates under Skilled Workers in Manitoba nor International Education Stream categories.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is one of the most popular Canadian Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). It allows Manitoba to nominate foreign workers and international graduates of its post-secondary institutions for Canadian permanent residency through its three popular immigration pathways.

In order to apply under both the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories, applicants need to first register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.

These EOI profiles are scored on the Manitoba points’ grid out of a total score of 1,000 based on their human capital characteristics including their English or French language skills, work experience, education, Manitoba connections, and other factors.

Candidates with the highest scores are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the MPNP.

Express Entry Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in subsequent Express Entry Draw.

Candidates, who receive an invitation in this draw, now have 60 calendar days to apply for the provincial nomination to MPNP.

Manitoba has now issued 2,269 LAA to immigration candidates so far in 2021.

The invitations were issued to candidates under the Express Entry BC and Skills immigration categories.

Invited candidates under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories of BC PNP needed a minimum provincial score of 80.

Launched in May 2017, the BC PNP Tech Pilot provides a fast-track immigration pathway to qualified foreign tech workers who want to become permanent Canadian residents.

The eligible candidates need to first create a profile through the BC PNP’s online portal and register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). They must choose to apply through the Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC immigration categories.

The BC PNP will then invite candidates who fulfill the minimum score requirements to apply for a provincial nomination through weekly draws conducted by BC PNP.

Invited candidates will then have 30 calendar days to submit their complete application for provincial nomination to BC PNP.

Those candidates, whose applications get approved, received a nomination confirmation that they can then use to submit their Canadian permanent residence application with the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Canada invited 6,000 CEC candidates in second-largest Express Entry Draw ever on April 16

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #183: APRIL 16, 2021

CRS further dropped to 417 points

Canada held the second-largest immigration draw in Express Entry’s history on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Another 6000 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates received invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian Permanent Residency in this surprise Friday draw.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score requirement for this draw was 417, which is a reduction of 15 points than the previous CEC-only draw.

As per the tie-break rule applied by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), only those CEC candidates with minimum CRS score of 417, who had submitted their Express Entry profile before March 1, 2021 at 19:53:46 UTC, received an invitation in this draw.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have at least one year of full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled, professional or technical work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.

Canadian Experience Class applications are processed through the Express Entry system. Eligible candidates need to first create an online Express Entry profile and receive an ITA before they can make an application for permanent residency.

CEC is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for international students as it offers them the fastest and most simple path to achieving permanent residence after completing a program or course of study at a Canadian educational institution and acquiring required work experience.

IRCC has now invited 55,390 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence through 13 invitation rounds held so far in 2021.

Express Entry

Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.

A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.

Express Entry-aligned PNPs

With an aim to attract highly skilled immigrants and deal with labour market needs, many of Canada’s provinces and territories have provincial nominee immigration streams linked to federal Express Entry.

Immigration candidates, who obtain a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned PNP, automatically receive 600 points toward their overall CRS score, eventually enabling him/her receive an ITA quickly.

The total number of invitations issued by IRCC so far this year is 49,390, which is nearly double the number of invitations issued at the same time last year.
