Manitoba PNP Invited Record 1,030 immigration candidates from outside Canada to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR

Manitoba PNP Invited Record 1,030 immigration candidates from outside Canada to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR

The Canadian province of Manitoba invited a record 1,030 immigration candidates from outside Canada to apply for a provincial nomination for the Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) in a new immigration draw held on December 15, 2022.

The Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program (MPNP) conducted this exclusive draw only for Skilled Workers Overseas candidates. The minimum provincial score requirement was also decent at only 600 points.

Out of the total invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued, 656 went to immigration candidates with profiles in the Federal Express Entry system.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) offers international graduates, foreign skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and their families with the intention and ability to successfully settle and economically establish in the province of Manitoba, a pathway to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

There are three major streams under the MPNP that offer foreign skilled workers a pathway to settle in Canada permanently – Skilled Workers Overseas Stream, Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream, and International Education Stream.

  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category of MPNP is open to qualified temporary foreign workers and international graduates who are currently working in the province and have been offered a permanent, full-time job with their Manitoba employer.

  • Skilled Worker Overseas

This category allows the MPNP to nominate eligible immigration candidates living outside Canada who have an established connection to Manitoba such as the previous education or work experience in the province, support of family members or friends, or an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

  • International Education Stream

MPNP’s International Education Stream is designed to provide faster pathways to nomination to international students graduating in Manitoba who fit the province’s labour market needs.

Express Entry Candidates, who successfully receive a nomination from MPNP, are awarded an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This effectively increases their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in subsequent Express Entry Draw.

MPNP’s nomination quota for 2022 is 6,367 and so far a total of 7,105 invitations have already been issued this year.

A total of 144 invites to apply for a provincial nomination were issued to candidates through four streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) in a Tech draw. Additional 44+ invitations went to candidates in the Healthcare, Childcare, and other priority occupations.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) offers a fast-track pathway for high-demand skilled foreign workers to gain permanent residency and immigrate directly to British Columbia.

The Express Entry BC (EEBC) stream of BCPNP allows the province to search & invite qualified candidates with a valid profile in the Federal Express Entry system. The Skills Immigration Category of BCPNP is designed for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the province.

In order to receive an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination under one of these two streams, candidates need to first create a profile through the BC PNP’s online portal and register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Express Entry candidates, whose applications get approved by BCPNP, will automatically receive additional 600 points toward their comprehensive ranking system (CRS) scores. This effectively guarantees them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Federal Express Entry Draw.
