EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #208: October 27, 2021

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #208: October 27, 2021

888 PNP candidates received invitations to apply for Canada PR in new Express Entry Draw on October 27

Canada conducted third largest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific Express Entry draw of the year on October 27, 2021.

Total 888 Express Entry candidates, who had previously received a nomination from an Express Entry-linked PNP, were invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency in this draw.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 744 points. Immigration candidates, who obtain a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned PNP, automatically receive 600 points toward their overall CRS score.  This is the reason that CRS cut-off score for PNP-specific draws is usually high.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was October 7th at 16:38:21 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 744 or more and had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation to apply (ITA) in this round of invitations.

Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the most popular immigration pathways for skilled workers, international students and entrepreneur immigrants.

PNP enables participating Canadian provinces and territories to nominate a certain number of economic immigrants for Canadian permanent residence each year. A part of these nominations are known as ‘enhanced’ nominations that allow a province or territory to nominate candidates in the federal Express Entry system.

The additional 600 points directly increase applicants’ chances to receive an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

So far in 2021, Canada only conducted PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) specific draws as these candidates are highly likely to be in Canada already.

IRCC has now issued a total of 111,265 ITAs to PNP and CEC candidates so far this year.

Express Entry-aligned PNPs

With an aim to attract highly skilled immigrants and deal with labour market needs, many of Canada’s provinces and territories have provincial nominee immigration streams linked to federal Express Entry.

Immigration candidates, who obtain a nomination from an Express Entry-aligned PNP, automatically receive 600 points toward their overall CRS score, eventually enabling him/her receive an ITA quickly.

Invited Express Entry candidates now have 60 days to submit their complete application for Canadian permanent residence. If their application gets approved, IRCC will issue them a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
